GENO-GENO AT LENGGONG (What's up!)
Lenggong is a small town in the northern part of Perak located 100km north of Ipoh. This town is also close to Gerik, Temenggor Dam, Lawin, Kota Tampan and Banding.

The residents of Lenggong possess a plentiful of diverse language dialects and unique vocabulary. Some of these dialects are most likely influenced by the Kelantan and Thai language that is not far from its border. Even our ancestors were from Thailand.


'Geno' is a very common local dialects and frequently used in daily conversations. It is sometimes called 'begeno' which means how. It is a rather famous phrase mentioned by Lenggong residents and the younger generations also love using it.
Example     : Geno mu nak kelik? (How are you going back?)
: Geno mu? (Area you okay?)/(How are you?)/ (What's up?)
